Cold Email Copywriter

Part-time -> transitioning to Full-Time for the right person!


Description:

Your role is to write compelling outbound email campaigns that convert like crazy. We’re looking for someone who can capture attention, drive interest, and persuade through snappy, concise, sales-oriented copy. Our primary channel is email, so understanding its channel-specific nuances is critical to success.


This will be an ongoing role. We need someone to become an extension of our team, albeit part-time, to help shoulder some of the consistent workload we have from our clients.

You need to be able to adjust to our system of work. This means being available inside of our Project Management tool (ClickUp), being responsive on Slack, and being able to turn client work around quickly.

We have proprietary AI technology that we’ve developed to personalize every email interaction. You must understand how to fit this into the copy you’re writing, understanding that the outputs of our tech are dynamic. While there are templates and specific styles, they do change frequently.

This is a longer-term position, so you will become familiar with the clients and their businesses. You will not interact with them directly, but we will be sending you their marketing material, videos, and transcripts of client calls, where we discuss copywriting strategy to tailor the copy you’re writing to their specific business. You should be willing to get invested in their success.

The basic types of client work we have are:

  • Initial Outreach Campaigns (3-5 touch email campaigns)
  • A / B Test Variations (these are single changes made to existing campaigns that occur on a weekly or bi-weekly cadence)
  • One-Off Miscellaneous Campaigns

Core copywriting skills:

 - Persona-based segmentation + messaging

 - Experience across multiple industries

  • Tech/IT/Saas
  • Manufacturing
  • Digital Marketing
  • Local service businesses

In addition to core copywriting. You should have a great understanding of the following concepts and they relate to campaign performance:

Email deliverability

  • Spam detection / spam word avoidance
  • Spintax

A / B testing

  • Creating a prioritized schedule for A / B testing
  • How, why, and when to test certain elements of a campaign

Main responsibilities:

Write high-converting B2B sales email campaigns for cold outreach / prospecting / lead generation

  • Review material we turn over to you, prepare feature/benefit tables, rank different copy angles
  • Perform independent research on the client’s target audience and market to inform your copy
  • Write 3-5 touch Initial Outreach Campaigns for client

Iterate campaign copy according to a pre-defined schedule for A/B testing

  • Work with our Campaign Strategist to decide on an effective A / B testing plan given the anticipated list sizes
  • Prioritize variables for testing and plan out the times and types of changes you expect to need to make throughout a campaign.
  • Hold yourself accountable for the performance of the copy in terms of open rates, click-through rates (when tracked), and reply rates.

Respond to Hyperspect team member requests for work

  • Be active and engaged in our project management process (ClickUp, Airtable)
  • Be active on behalf of the client, strive to complete the deliverables on time and under budget


Compensation


We're paying $1.5K - $3K monthly based on experience for ~20 - 25 hrs/week. The role is open to candidates across the globe.
